Story Summary
The story takes place in Changri dong, a peaceful neighborhood in the fictional city of Giyun. One day, a large explosion occurs near an ATM machine, and the incident is quickly labeled as a simple accident. However, insurance investigator Choi Kang notices strange details at the scene, including suspicious footprints and a fake police officer. He soon realizes that someone is trying to hide the truth behind the explosion.
Local shop owner and youth leader Kwak Byung Nam also finds Choi Kang suspicious and initially believes he might be a criminal or spy. But when unexpected threats begin to spread across the neighborhood, the two men discover that they each have a hidden past connected to special operations units.
As more residents become involved including supermarket owner Jung Nam Yeon, martial arts instructor Lee Yong Hee and engineering student Park Jung Hwan the truth slowly emerges. All of them are former military specialists who once served in high level special forces or support units. They had hoped to live quietly, but the series of incidents forces them to reunite and form a new team to protect the neighborhood.
